Basoto and So Trip -- Magic Nuts
Basoto was lazy — whenever he could, he would go to sleep. So Trip was usually busy trying to find new ways to do things — and since he had a good imagination, this was a good way to stay out of trouble.
Basoto had one special skill — he could make any food that he could dream up — and it always tasted very good. Other guys had to work hard to make good tasting food, but Basoto made it very quickly. So Trip thought that he was very lucky to have such a talented friend.
One day So Trip decide to make some dessert with nuts. He had a reliable source of nuts — magic nuts. He would go into the forest — actually a jungle -- to a special place where there was a short funny looking tree to get them.
This time, when So Trip arrived at his special tree he found that someone had cut it down — it was gone. But he was not worried — since it was a special tree, he expected something good would happen. He was correct — as he watched, the tree began to grow quickly back up to full size and it immediately produced lots of nuts. So Trip was very pleased that he knew where this tree was and he filled up several bags with nuts and headed home.
As he headed home, So Trip stopped by and picked some tasty fruit — he had decied to make a pie with the fruit and nuts. Instead of making the pie himself he gave the nuts and fruit to Basoto — and Basoto waved his hands and suddenly on the table — there was a hot steaming pie. It was too hot to eat, so they waited for it to cool down.
As they waited for the pie to cool down, up jumped the magic nuts out of the pie and then they danced around on top of the pie. Basoto and So Trip had never seen anything like this. So Trip thought that the new tree must have produced special types of nuts. After awhile the nuts climbed back into the pie, the pie colled down and they ate it all quickly — it was delicious.
They had a lot of leftover nuts and they put them on the table. Nothing happened. Then Basoto and So Trip decided to go outside -- when they came back in all the nuts were gone. They searched everywhere, but they could not find the missing nuts. They sat down and looked at each other. Basoto happened to look at the ceiling and saw that the nuts were all stuck to the ceiling. So Trip was cautious — working, eating and living with magic nuts might be a problem.
Finally the nuts came down off of the ceiling and crawled into the bags. Basoto immediately tied up the bags. They decided that they would eat up the nuts as soon as possible, but they already had eaten too much and would have to wait until the next day.
